Tour Itinerary

When my baby smiles at me, I go to Rio…and Iguassu Falls, Buenos Aires, Lima, and Cusco! You’ll be smiling from ear to ear on this epic 16-day Independence by Globus tour of South America with plenty of much needed I-time in Brazil, Argentina, and Peru. And, while it takes two to Tango, it only takes you to choreograph the perfect day on an Independence by Globus vacation in South America. Rio sizzles with Brazilian barbecue, beaches, and bustling nightlife, bringing you a little closer to heaven atop Corcovado Mountain where the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue stands watch. With the freedom to design your days and fill your nights with Latin flair that ignites your independent spirit, you’ll be swaying to the samba in no time! Go chasing waterfalls in Iguassu National Park, where thunderous cascades plummet 300 feet into Devil’s Throat Canyon. Head to Buenos Aires, bursting at the seams with bold buildings, European energy, and bustling boulevards on this Independence by Globus South American tour. Walk down the world’s widest avenue where the Colon Theater and Plaza de Mayo burst onto the scene. From the exciting enclave of La Boca to the old district of San Telmo, you can shop ‘til you drop and dine on the deliciousness of dozens of local cafes. Linger in the legendary Recoleta Cemetery where Argentina’s famous First Lady Evita Perón rests in peace, and then join the land of the living with a lively Tango show. Horse around with gauchos on an Argentinean estancia where ranch life is alive and kicking. Then, set your compass to the heart of Peru to ignite your independent spirit in Lima, Cusco, and magnificent Machu Picchu to find the “Lost City of the Incas.” Explore ancient ruins that defy explanation and encounter the captivating cultures that live on in the Sacred Valley and Cusco. Timeless temples, textiles, and tantalizing dishes are all on the menu on this free-spirited sojourn in South America.

We love Globus and have been on many tours including Avalon cruises and Independence City Stays too.

We have gone on several globus tours and always had a great experience. the hotels are all top notch, the travel arrangements great, the destinations and side trips wonderful.

We have taken several tours with Globus and will continue due to their professionalism, knowledge and quality of service.

We thoroughly enjoyed this trip. It was everything we expected and more. I would definitely book another trip with Globus. I look forward to my next tour.

Globus was a highly reliable company as usual.

The Globus tour director was excellent. He was very knowledgeable about the areas we visited and kept us occupies during the bus rides. The accommodations were very nice and conveniently located.

Globus is a first class operation. We have never gone wrong in booking a tour with Globus.

This trip to Portugal, Morocco and Spain was wonderful. A great experience from start to finish. Globus Tours are top notch.

It's usually hard to beat our expectations of a trip but Avalon most certainly did it. The atmosphere delivered, the food, the excursions and their wonderful staff made our vacation more than memorable.

Globus always provides very high quality. We were completely satisfied with our experience.

We have traveled many times with Globus. We consistently have found this tour operator to be reliable.

Excellent itinerary, outstanding guide, and a wonderful trip to a delightful country I would strongly recommend.

The tour cities and sites we visited were all great. The pace of the tour was good (not rushed with time to rest, shop or sight see on our own). Our tour director was fabulous (good communicator, knowledgeable, nice sense of humor). Our driver was a wonderful driver, I always felt safe. The extra excursions (I purchased all 4) were excellent and reasonably priced. I will use Globus again.

Globus Escapes are an economical way to travel during the off season. For me, I often prefer the off-season because there are fewer crowds. I especially appreciate the local tour guides in each area.
