Great itinerary! Staying at Ashford Castle was an experience of a lifetime! The accommodations were comfortable, while being luxurious.
Excellent tour. Very good Tour Director.
Would highly recommend this itinerary.
We traveled with Carol as our Branden Tour guide and she was outstanding. Her knowledge of Ireland and its history made the couple of long travel days interesting, her hidden gems were very special and she made sure that everyone one the tour was made to feel equally important. The accomadations throughout were exceptional except at one place (forgot the hotel but Carol could tell you) where renovations were being done. That being known, those two nights should have been rebooked at a different hotel rather than to have our group eating in a make shift dining room and bar set up in a conference room! Also, several dinners were same choice... beef stew, fish or snicker & gravy dish, all with mashed potatoes. Some variety would have been welcomed.

Ashford Castle was unbelievable! It dates back to the year 1228, has dark wood paneling, ornate carpeting, and chandeliers throughout. We arrived by ferry boat and received a Scottish bagpipe escort to the castle main entrance where the staff lined up to await our arrival. My single room was a small apartment with a hallway, a small bathroom and master bedroom and flatscreen wall-mounted tv on the first floor plus a flight of stairs that led to the wardrobe closets and grand master bathroom with tub, heated towel rail and bathroom floor, double sinks, and built-in bench for changing. The grounds have a fountain, garden, and walkways that lead to a falconry school that you may attend. Other activities you may sign up for include clay pidgeon shooting, horseback riding, kayaking, biking, and boat fishing. Notable guests include the Prince of Wales / King George V, John Lennon, George Harrison, John Wayne, Maureen Oâ??Hara and the cast and crew of the film The Quiet Man, Bill Clinton, and Brad Pitt. Highly recommended!!!
