With its magnificent architecture, beautiful landscapes, sumptuous cuisine, ancient ruins, and brilliant art, Italy is a country like no other. On this affordable Italy’s Best tour, you’ll experience all of this and more. One of the tour’s highlights is the excursion to the Cinque Terre—five medieval seaside villages. The area is noted for its natural beauty with terraces built into the mountainside on cliffs that drop down into the sea. Delight in the unique charm of the area and take in the breathtaking views. On your journey through Tuscany, watch the undulating hills, terraced vineyards, olive groves, and rural villages. More stunning scenery awaits at Lake Maggiore, one of Italy’s largest lakes. Located on the edge of the Swiss Alps, it’s the perfect place to relax and soak in the beauty. Briefly cross the border into Switzerland to Lugano, a lakeside town with a Mediterranean flair. In southern Italy, witness magnificent views of the crystal-clear, blue sea in the vibrant town of Sorrento, and enjoy a day trip to Capri where the crashing sea has formed awe-inspiring caves. On this comprehensive Italy tour, history comes alive. Visit Pompeii, buried during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. This amazingly preserved archaeological site gives you a detailed insight into ordinary life at the peak of the Roman Empire. In Rome, during the city sightseeing tour with a local guide, see the main sights, as well as Vatican City with St Peter’s Basilica. In Genoa, boasting Europe’s largest medieval historical district, view the remains of the city’s 17th-century fortifications. Visit St Francis’ Basilica in Assisi, a medieval town set in the Umbrian hills. Guided city sightseeing tours are planned in Rome, Florence, Assisi, and Genoa. Your visit to Venice includes a boat trip to St Mark’s square to see the maze of canals forming this unique romantic city. These are just some of the many highlights of this affordable tour of Italy!

I have been with several Cosmos tours and will continue with Cosmos.

Just an overall wonderful tour- we saw it all !!!

Both the tour guide and the driver were amazing and very professional.

The hotel Poppi in the Venice area is filthy and smells like mold. The hotels are all far from the main city center. The city guides were somewhat subpar. The city guide in Assisi did not know how to use her microphone and caused severe squealing. That being said, this cosmos is a great overview of italy.

Hotels in Rome and Venice were way too far from City Center for self-touring purposes, essentially forcing clients to either pay for the optional excursions at night or be forced to stay and eat in the vicinity of the out-of-the-way hotels. Optional excusrsion to Positano was a rip-off, essentially a morning bus ride to southern Italy's most charming "tourist trap!!" Should be deleted and replaced with more time in the Cinqueterra.

I would like to elaborate on my answers. I understand that as a business it's good to get feedback on the overall experience of your customers. First of all, I have nothing but high regard for the travel agents, tour directors and all of the people involved overall for my first experience in Italy. Brandon, you were very helpful. I feel that your level of service was without reproach...I would recommend you in the future. As far as Cosmos and Globus, I cannot say enough good about our guides and the people who worked so hard to make it such a memorable experience. Kristina and Umberto deserve high recognition...I do not envy the complications and frustrations that they deal with...people showing up late, people not cooperating...herding cats isn't easy. Having said that, there were a few things that I feel could be improved upon with the tour as a whole. The accommodations we're all very nice and met my expectations. However, there were places that I felt very secluded and I had an inability to venture from the hotel. Specifically Rome, Venice and Sorrento. I'm a Traveller that likes to explore, walk out of my hotel door and find a cool Piazza to spend my time...I want my own time outside of a group experience...and I want to be able to walk to it. I understand that there are many variables at play and that it's hard to plan the perfect experience for everyone...I also.work in the travel industry. If I might make a suggestion to Globus...there are those of us trapped in a strange age geoup who are not in the 20-35 year old range, we're not backpackers, but we're also not the 50+ group. We want to have fun, we can hike to Villa Jovie and back in the better part of two hours. I hated hurrying up to wait....we are still adventurous. Create that tour for our age range....we are.atill active and want adventure in our lives. I probably wouldn't do another guided tour otherwise.

The trip was very good. We saw a lot, more than we would have seen had we travelled alone. The meals were good, the only exception was the excursion meal "Sorento Flavors" for it was almost all pasta and no meat protein. Our group got along well with one another, all 44 of us. I think we got a good overall view of Italy, mostly a taste of each place. If we should return we know where we would revisit and focus some more in depth time. The bus was comfortable and our guide was knowledgeable and animated, personable. The part that was a bit difficult was the early morning rising times when you are dealing with jet lag, but that would be expected on a trip that covers a lot of ground.

The trip was fantastic, organized, fun, educational, and unique. Ingrid and Michele were exceptional

Wonderful trip, jam packed with activities.

I have been traveling w/Cosmos for the last 13 years & every trip has been excellent!!

I have to say the accommodations was substandard. The air conditioning in all of the hotels except for the Holiday Inn express was nonexistent. It was too uncomfortable especially the Ath Green Hotel.

The tour was well organized and the tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The additional excursions were very good as well.

Some of the hotel bathrooms were under par and the included dinners were very poor in variety as I am a vegetarian. Sometimes the entree was burnt and breakfast had no protein content.

The Cosmos trip we booked was the Best of Italy 2017 and it certainly was "the best". We have booked Cosmos before and had a good value for the price. But this tour was exceptionally well done with better accommodations than we usually expect with Cosmos. The tour guide and the local tour guides added to our understanding of the areas we visited. This is a good value and great experience for the price.

The Cosmos tour Italy's Best was amazing with one exception. The Hotel Poppi in the Venice area was hideous! There was mold in the bathroom and the main area smelled. The carpets were filthy and it was in the middle of nowhere. This in NO WAY reflects on Affordable Tours. Affordable Tours has been helpful every time I have used them.

Perfect trip. It's hot in Italy in August but, hey you're sweating in Italy! Our tour guide was great, better than great! And our driver kept us safe on the roads - which was a feat in itself. I saw the highest part of Italy on this tour and chose it because of the great itinerary. Hotels and meals were good enough and occasionally superb. Excursions were worth it every time!

This is my third booking with Cosmos and Affordable Tours. The quality of the 4 included dinners in this tour was really inferior and certainly lower than earlier tours in France, Spain, and Portugal. Most optional dinners were also inferior despite the higher expense. I will use less and less of these options in the future. This may have to do with Italy being more expensive, but Cosmos could at least work a little harder on offering a better value. It is not acceptable to offer dinners without water and to have to pay 3 euros for a bottle of water while asking to avoid tap water. Those serving these dinners made lots of money selling wine and water, while offering mediocre food that spoke very badly for Italian food.

Most accommodations were great. The only one that wasn't was near Venice called Poppi. It was below par compared to the other hotels that we stayed at. Most of my group did not like this place. Cosmos should try to find another place to stay at. Other than that, perfect trip with a great tour director and a fun group to tour with!

My wife and I really enjoyed this tour of Italy and the itinerary was what we wanted and has met our expectations. Though the tour was hectic, which we expected at the start, we really like (and it was less tiring) staying for two nights in a city (like in Rome, Montecatini (Tuscany), Venice and Sorrento) which the itinerary in this tour had nicely scheduled. We had a well-experienced and caring tour guide. Overall, it was an enjoyable tour!

The trip was amazing our tour director was very friendly and knowledgeable. I would like to have the tour director eat with the group at least on the last night.

Italy's Best is the best value for your money, it's a great introduction to Italy, we have seen amazing things in a short period of time! Our tour director is amazing and our driver as well

This tour had the right amount of free and structured time. I appreciated the included guided tours. It was wonderful to be driven around Italy, and we saw many beautiful things. The tour guide and the bus driver were a great team. In the future though, I will avoid flying with British air. The plane was horribly crowded, the seats were small, and the attendants were curt. Flying American Airlines home was a pleasure. We wish that we had flown in a day or two early to acclimate.

Fast paced, loved every second. Wish it did not come to an end.

My only reservation, which I expected but not to the degree that emerged, was that the tour was very organized generally, but left one feeling somewhat "culturally force-fed" and under the pressure of being bused inter-city and with limited time intra-city for self-exploration. My biggest disappointment was the "small-town and geriatric mentality" of most but not all of the other participants (especially the women most of whom were in female pairs of sisters or neighbors)" who appeared more history in shop-window gazing (aka. "shopping") than in the culture and history around them.

The accommodations in most places were far from the city centers requiring a lot of travel time there and back. In some instances if you didn't take the excursions, there was nothing to do but sit in the hotel i. e. The Poppi Hotel. The tour seemed to be focused on places to buy souvenirs instead of seeing historical sights. I was so disappointed we only saw the cathedral in Milan. In most cities, we rushed in and out. It would have been much better if we saw fewer cities and more historical sights. Our docent was excellent and managed 40 plus people very well. Another complaint was the size of the tour group. It was far too large.

We saw a lot of interesting and beautiful places however, and over all, I thought it was fine. However, the hotels in Rome were in questionable neighborhoods and were far from tourist sites. We were left on our own more than we had expected.

This was a great way to see Italy for the first time. I got a taste of each area. I discovered many places there I want to revisit. The tour was led by a really great guy who knew the English-language and was knowledgeable about many things. Our group got to know each other and it was very comfortable to visit with all. Our rooms were the best. And we had free time to do things on our own. Our guide was helpful with information about where to eat on our own or things to see on our own. Our bus driver was the best. I felt very safe and the bus vas VERY nice and clean.. i would definitely go on another tour!

Two of the hotels were not up to expectation. Both were very remote with nothing nearby and one had a very bad odor to it. I did comment on this on the Cosmos survey. Everything else was great! We have taken two other Globus tours before (one to England and one to Alaska) and really liked those tours. We would probably go back to the Globus tours next time

This trip was amazing! The scenery, the accommodations, and the optional excursions were truly an experience! I loved this trip so much, I have been telling everyone about it and encouraging them to go.

Everything about our trip from booking to return home was awesome! Great trip and I have also recommended Affordable Tours to friends.

Most hotels were just average. The one in Rome was below average. We spent a lot of time on the buses going from city to city. I would say 40% of the days were spent driving. I believe it was too many cities for the this particular tour with checking in and out of hotels too often.

This was our second Cosmos tour, and this time it was much more apparent that the hotels were way outside the cities. This was not as much of a problem in Ireland for some reason but we were very isolated in just about every hotel.

I would like to take this opportunity to specially thank our tour operator. He is very knowledgeable and courteous. He offered great help in our trip to Italy. We highly recommend him to anyone who wants to go to Italy.

Had a wonderful trip, everything was planned very well. Thank you.

I was disappointed in the Cosmos tour director because most of his energies were focused on serving the people who signed up for excursions. His English was rather poor and, on the Coach, he did not provide us much info about Italy and the sites we visited. At times, he cut our time to visit a city short in order to provide time for a sit-down lunch, in a place where he or Cosmos probably were getting some money from the restaurant. In Ravenna and Milan, and Venice we did not have much time to see the sites. The hotels in all locations were far away from the center of town. The Rome Hotel was very noisy.

The important location/event did not included to the tour price, so we had to pay additional fees if we wanted to attend them. The costs were EXTREMELY expensive such as double to ride gondola or 2.5 times to have a dinner. The dinners included the tour were terrible. The guide was so pushy and no service attitude. How many times I was told " I am doing something", "I will explain it later", "When you are In Rome, do like Roman does." (It means she is right, and I am wrong!) so on. We really wanted to go home on the first day of our tour. The location of hotels so far away due to the bus-tour, so we could not go to town by ourselves. We stayed hotel to watch TV. Such a stupid thing! This is not the first group tour for us, but it was bad experience.

Affordable tours did a fine job, the tour director for Cosmos was a little too hard sell on the optional tours...and some of the included dinners and optional dinners were not very good value. One or 2 of the hotels we not so hot , but others were ok. One was superior. All were clean. All in all , a good trip and we saw much more than we would have on our own. Our group of travelers was great too, made many new friends.

I had a great time in Italy with Cosmos tour. Everything was well-organized during the tour.

couple of accommodations were below our expectations and one particular hotel in Rome, Flemings, the staff was much below average in terms of coutesy and explaining our queries. I have mentioned this in the survey report provided by Cosmos the tour operators. otherwise on the whole the tour was excellent.

The accomodations were mostly dirty, rundown hotels that were no where near the main cities or sites (at times a 1hr commute away from the main attractions, ex. Venice). I traveled with 2 people and many hotels had accomodations for a double room rather than a triple room with unacceptable 3rd beds. The hotel staff were also not at all accomodating. I felt like there should have been a price cut for the unacceptable accomodations we had to endure as 3 people rather than 2 in a room. The included dinner's were unedible, we often sought out other places to eat afterward. There were places were there were no other options for restaurants near the hotel or within a reasonable distance. Very few guided tours were included in the trip and some of the optional excursions were also sub-par. In order to see and experience the places we visited, option excursions were often a must as well. If I knew this would be an issue, I would have chosen a tour with more things already included or I would have budgeted differently for this tour. For the 3 of us, we spent at least an additional $2000 on excursions during this trip. I have been on over half a dozen tours before and this one was definately not worth the amount we paid and I would never travel with Cosmos again.

Cosmos itenary is precise and concise. The tour director and tour guides are all very professional and knowledgeable. It good to read up the locations u are travelling to so u don't miss the chance to learn more from these experienced guides. = ) In this tour, we met travelers from all over the world, it's just a fantastic way to interact and learn each other culture!
