Tour director and driver were excellent — friendly, helpful and accommodating!! The Mercure hotels were not up to the standards I’ve come to expect from Globus - based on 4 previous tours with Globus. Main complaints: no a/c, no connections to directly charge phones, insufficient outlets, no Wi-Fi service except in public areas. Complaints are on Globus, not Affordable.

Our tour director was entertaining, knowledgeable and organized. He gave plenty of suggestions for things to do in our free time. His knowledge of the British Isles was amazing and informative.

I will never take another Costsaver Tour. My First tour with them was excellent; however this tour was far from it. The hotels were not up to standard. I realize this is cost saver however the quality of the hotels was very poor. They were maybe 2 star hotels for the most part. Mold, peeling paint, moldy musty smells, no hot water, showers that didn't work, toilets that had flushing issues. It wasn't just one hotel, it was the majority. We also had to carry our luggage up stairs. The tour director said he had 29 years experience; however his performance does not reflect this. He gave alot of misinformation. The vacation started off on the wrong foot with our departure delayed due to the coach being in an accident on the way to pick us up. They had to arrange for a new driver and coach. The coach that arrived was old and filty, we had to clean off our seats and trays to sit. They replaced the coach and that coach had no working aircon. After roasting in the coach for 3 days of promises of getting a new coach we were in an accident about 9:30 am. We spent 9 hours at a little hotel that took very good care of us in beautiful Scotland while waiting for a new coach. All our tours were cancelled and we didn't get the coach until 6:30 pm and arrived at our hotel to finally get dinner around 8:30 pm. I find it hard to believe that a company as large as Trafalgar does not have access to back up coaches or sources. It was unacceptable that we had to spend 9 hours sitting in a hotel lobby doing nothing all day. Almost every day we were told we had a 30 minute potty break and to buy a sandwich to eat on the bus because that is all we had time for. I don't mind sandwiches, but to have to grab and go a premade sandwich the majority of the trip is not what I enjoy, especially when this is my vacation I have saved up for. I could go on, but you get the gist of my experience. I have dreamed of this vacation for so long and it was an utter disappointment. I feel cheated both financially as well as the lack of experiences in an area I dreamed of visiting for a long time.
